This website presents a forecast for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup that will be held from Friday June 7th, 2019 until Sunday July 7th, 2019 in France. The forecast is based on a statistical simulation of the tournament that takes a variety of factors into account for each of the participating countries. These factors include the tournament schedule, the FIFA Women's World Ranking, and the rate at which each country scored and conceded goals in earlier matches.
The forecast was run by SciSports researchers Lotte Bransen and Jan Van Haaren. The website and simulation code were originally developed by Anton Dries, Vladimir Dzyuba, Wannes Meert, Toon Van Craenendonck, Jan Van Haaren and Vincent Vercruyssen for the 2016 UEFA European Championship while they were researchers at the DTAI Sports Analytics Lab of KU Leuven.
